Location: Godalming Karate Club, Godalming Borough Hall,    (opposite Waitrose), The Burys, Godalming, Surrey.    Day: Wednesdays    Instructors: Sensei Terry Armsworth,    Sensei Darren Warner,    Sensei Simon Sherwood    Children's Club: 6 - 7pm    Adults & Teen's Club: 7 - 9pm    Directions: Get Directions    News: In October 2011, students from Godalming and Haslemere clubs had a real treat when they were joined by two Shaolin Warriors, touring in a Chinese circus With an audience of around 50 karate students and parents, they performed an impressive demonstration of their Shaolin Monk kung fu skills that culminated in an awe-inspiring stunt involving a needle, balloon and a sheet of glass. In a truly stunning display of power and focus, one warrior forced a needle through a sheet of glass, popping the balloon on the other side, leaving just a small hole in the glass. The karate students then got to join in and learn some real kung fu moves. This sharing of martial arts styles was a real pleasure for all involved. The warriors were in town with the Chinese circus and they contacted Sensei Terry Armsworth to see if he would be interested in hosting the warriors for an evening at Godalming karate club. He readily agreed as there are many similarities between different martial arts styles and you can learn a lot from each other. The students were really inspired and would like to thank the Shaolin warriors for taking time out of their busy schedule to come and demonstrate their art.
